German Pancakes

Generally when i ask “what do you kids want for lunch?” “German pancakes” is screamed without even a slight hesitation. My kids love the whole process from mixing the ingredients to watching it rise as it cooks to eating it with homemade syrup or jelly! And it warms this mommas heart.

I’ve made it my goal since Cam was tiny to include my babies in the kitchen as much as i can and to have as many dance parties as it takes to make something. These are the memories i love making and getting to then consume our creation with my precious gifts from God is a huge bonus.

Plus how can you not dance around when you are excited to eat something this delicious!

Recipe:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

6 eggs

1 cup flour

Mix until it is smooth

1 1/2 Tbs raw honey

1 1/2 tsp salt

1 cup milk

Mix everything until completely combined

In your pie dish melt 1 Tbs of butter

Pour you mix over melted butter and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Make sure to turn on your oven light so your littles can watch the magic happen! Make sure not to open the door till you are positive it is done so that the side don’t fall!

Pull it out, slather the top with your choice of topping (we love butter and homemade jelly or syrup) and eat up!

Enjoy!
